It happened around 8 a.m. on the 2800 block of Windy Bush Road/Route 232 in Upper Makefield, township police wrote in a release. First responders arrived to find the driver had been ejected from the vehicle, and that fuel was leaking out of the truck.

The victim was rushed to St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne with "serious" injuries, authorities said. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by Upper Makefield police.

As work crews address the spill, Windy Bush Road will remain closed from Round Hill and Pine Lane for "most of the day" Thursday, police said.

"At this time, our thoughts and prayers are with the driver and his family as we hope they make a full recovery," the department wrote.
